FISA is proud to introduce you to the 2010-2011 FISA team. Each year we select the best candidates as executives. This year again we have sixteen strong candidates determinate to achieve another successful year. Take the time to read the biographies of each of them. Career Objectives: Institutional Sales/TradingBio: Dominique graduated from Cegep de Sainte Foy with a D.E.C in Insurance & Finance and she is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Commerce degree at the John Molson School of Business with a Major in Finance. Dominique’s professional package stems out from working for National Bank in both the financial and banking sectors. She has also worked at TD Meloche Monnex and in a Mutual Fund company, Brandes Investment Partners. In 2010, Dominique represented JMSB at the Rotman International Trading Competition where her team ranked 21st out of 43 teams. As well she took part of several Interuniversity Stock simulations and won 1st place (team) and 2nd place (individual) at the Simulation Boursière Inter-Universitaire at Laval University. This year she will be on the JMSB Ethics team, which will compete at Commerce Games. As president of FISA, Dominique wants to continue to increase FISA awareness and create strong and sustainable relations within the finance community at JMSB. Dominique is currently a CFA Level 1 candidate for the December exam. As a Hobby, Dominique likes snowboarding, competitive swimming, cooking and wine testing.

Career Objectives: Risk ManagementBio: Sain received a Bachelors of Commerce degree in 1999 from Goa University, India with a Major in Management and then worked as an Asset Manager at ICICI Bank. Sain is currently working towards his Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance at the John Molson School of Business. He is a member of the Institute for Co-operative Education and the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honour Society. Sain received the George and Helen Economides Scholarship in 2008 and he was awarded a Commerce and Administration Students Association Award in 2009. Sain is currently on a work Internship at Global Alpha Capital Management Ltd. where he works extensively with the Portfolio Managers and Analyst researching American, European and Asian small cap equities. In Winter 2010 Sain completed his Internship at Industrial Alliance Securities as a Research Associate covering the Consumer Discretionary and Industrial sector. Last year he completed an 8 month Work Internship as an International Logistics Analyst at Abitibi Bowater in Montreal. He is actively involved in student life and serves as Executive V.P. of the Finance Investment Student Association. He served as President of John Molson Investment Society at JMSB last year, and was also a member of the events committee for Professional Risk Managers International Association (PRMIA Montreal chapter). In 2010, Sain was part of the case competition strategy team at the Jeux du Commerce and part of the team that placed 1st at Simulation Boursière Inter-Universitaire Laval 2010. In 2009, Sain participated in the biggest Intra-University Stock Simulation in Canada at HEC sponsored by Caisse de Dépôt et de Placement where his team ranked 1st. Upon graduation he intends to pursue his CFA designation. During his spare time, Sain enjoys cooking, spending time with his family, and weight training. As a KWPMP Fund, Manager Sain is responsible for the Healthcare Sector and Performance Analysis.

This is Anum’s second consecutive year as a FISA executive and she is excited to take on her new role as VP Internal. In addition to FISA, Anum sits on the Concordia Volunteer Abroad Program’s Board of Directors and is on the Business Policy team for the Inter-Collegiate Business Competition. This year, Anum hopes to expose students to the various career paths possible with a finance degree.

Career Objectives: Mergers & AcquisitionsBio: Roey Barnir is a senior John Molson student with a major in Finance and minor in International Business. Born in Israel and raised in the United States, he is currently finishing his studies while preparing for his CFA level I exam. Roey is planning on returning to the United States next year to attend law school, where he will focus in M&A and private equity law. His past work experience includes Bloomberg L.P.’s New York City office, where he specialized in fixed income security and index analysis.

Career Objectives: Portfolio ManagerBio: Ahmad was admitted to The John Molson School of Business 2008 after spending six years in the Canadian Armed Forces as an infantry soldier. After his service in the military, Ahmad headed west to Alberta and worked for a large oil company before he realized his passion for the investment world and decided to head back to school. He is currently working towards his Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance, with a minor in Economics. Ahmad is a member of the Golden key honor society and is an executive with the Finance and Investment’ Student association (FISA). In November 2009, Ahmad represented JMSB at the Queens Finance Association Conference in Toronto as an external delegate. Upon graduation he will likely pursue his CFA certification. In his spare time, Ahmad enjoys working out, reading and playing Basketball.

Melissa’s determination and spirited personality make her a perfect fit to tackle any challenge.

Tanya is loving being in FISA and learning about Finance. She found her love of business when she (and other high school students) created a company with Junior Achievement. During the year she volunteers and during the summer she works as the Activities Supervisor at a camp for people with disabilities. After a long day, Tanya likes to cook, play the guitar and hangout with friends.

Career Objectives:Investment BankingBio:Kevin graduated from Marianopolis College with a double D.E.C. in Arts and Science. Currently, he is in his second year of studies at the John Molson School of Business pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Finance and a minor in Accounting. Kevin is on the Dean’s list and is a member of both the Institute for Co-operative Education and the Golden Key International Honour Society. He spent the summer of 2009 on a work Internship at BMO Nesbitt Burns working with a portfolio management team undertaking US and Canadian equity research. During Winter 2010 he was on a work Internship at Standard Life Investments as an equity analyst covering the Energy and Materials sectors. In Summer 2010, Kevin will be on a work Internship at GMP Securities in the Investment Banking Division covering all Quebec-domiciled deals. Kevin is the Vice-President of Finance for the Commerce and Administration Student Association at JMSB. In addition, he participated at Jeux de Commerce 2010 as a member of the Entrepreneurship team and in 2009, Kevin also participated in the biggest Intra-University Stock Simulation in Canada at HEC sponsored by Caisse de Dépôt et de Placement where his team ranked first amongst 450 participants. Upon graduation he plans to pursue the CFA and CA designations and work towards his MBA degree. During his spare time he enjoys reading, cooking, and playing golf. Kevin is the KWPMP Fund Manager responsible for the Information Technology sector and co-responsible for the Fixed Income portfolio.

Career Objectives:Portfolio ManagerBio:Michael graduated from South Burlington High School in Vermont. He is currently working towards his Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance at the John Molson School of Business. Michael recently completed an internship with RBC Capital Markets in New York in the Summer Analyst Program working on the Debt Capital Markets desk. The previous summer Michael worked for a distressed debt and event driven hedge fund, Normandy Hill Capital, also in New York. Michael is involved in the student community where he is President and Portfolio Manager for the John Molson Investment Society. Michael is also an executive in the Finance and Investment Student’s Association at JMSB. In November Michael represented JMSB at the Queens Finance Association Conference in Toronto as an external delegate. In January Michael competed at Simulation Boursière de l'AÉFUL at the University of Laval, where his team brought home gold. Michael also was a member of the JMSB team winning overall gold at the McGill Financial Open. This summer Michael will be working for Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan "HOOPP" on the derivatives and fixed income desk in Toronto. Upon graduation he plans to pursue his CFA certification and start his career investments. In his spare time Michael enjoys playing hockey, lacrosse and sailing.

While in Shanghai, Julian worked as an intern for Standard Chartered Bank, in the Global Markets department. He is currently working towards a Bachelors of Science at Concordia University, specializing in Mathematics and Computational Finance. In his leisure time, Julian enjoys judo, sailing and reading.

Mo latest work experience was with the sovereign wealth fund, China Investment Corporation in Beijing, in the Private Market Investment Department and the human resource department. Career Objectives:Portfolio ManagerBio:Benjamin arrived in Montreal three years ago after having graduated from a French high-school in Strasbourg, France. He holds a French Baccalauréat and is currently working towards his Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance at the John-Molson School of Business. Benjamin is the Members-Relations executive in the John-Molson Investment Society. Through his working experiences, he developed a great ability to manage people and to take on important responsibilities. Benjamin participated to several stock simulations organized by Concordia, McGill and HEC. Upon graduation he plans to pursue his CFA certification and start a Master degree. Benjamin likes to be kept up to date with the latest news and what is happening in the financial world. In his spare time, Benjamin likes to play sports, read, watch movies, go out and socialize.
